This project involves taking an existing unfinished garage and adding accessory living space to the second floor. To have usable living space, half the roof system needs to be removed and a full length dormer added. This project will incorporate high performance insulation strategies with a high efficiency heat recovery ventilation system (HRV). This will be an all electrically powered living space – heat pumps will be the only heating and cooling source with no fossil fuels used.
