Blue Heron Building began in 2017 as a new venture for owner Dan Opton. After working for and with other builders for over twenty years, Dan has earned a reputation for high-quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, above average communication and on-time delivery. With extensive experience with home renovations, he’s known for his easy-going manner and can-do attitude. He takes pride in a clean, safe job site that meets OSHA standards and minimizes the impact to the homeowner. Sub-contractors working on Blue Heron job sites are held to the same standard of service.
Beginning with grade school woodshop classes, Dan developed an interest in wood working and carpentry. At home, he often helped his Mom tackle all sorts of projects, which made carpentry and home renovation a natural part of growing up. Over the years, Dan developed his skills and fell in love with all aspects of carpentry. He has worked for many years as a lead carpenter, project manager, site manager and safety coordinator with some of the leading builders in the area. Though small, Blue Heron’s “Tiny Shop” is well tooled up to support projects in the field.
